Growing up in West Islip, New York, Christopher Atteo attended Signal Hill Grammar School, and West Hollow Middle School and High School. However, there is a lot more to the story. When he was just nine years of age, his father was diagnosed with MS, which rendered him unable to work, which meant Chris, as the oldest of four children in the Atteo family, had to work to help the family. That work ethic continues to this day.
Following his high school graduation, Chris Atteo took a number of financial courses at State University of New York (SUNY) in Farmingdale. Shortly after that he tested for and received licenses in Series 7 and 63 and he became a broker. At the end of the 1990s, he worked for several smaller-tier financial firms before he moved to Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, where he worked for the better part of a year. Then, between 2001 and 2005, Christopher worked for three separate firms on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and also earned both a Series 55 and a Series 24 license.
Over the years, Christopher Atteo has worked with many investment firms and he has also traded for himself. Over that time, he has developed a strong understanding of the global equity markets and derivatives from both a technical and fundamental analysis perspective. Besides drawing on his extensive experience as an investor and trader, Chris also has read hundreds of books and transcripts regarding various investment strategies, economics, risk management, diversification and asset allocation. He has also studied how the greatest fund managers in the world do their jobs so successfully.
